The first Green Dragons Panel of the year was simply exciting! City Green Monitor, Restart, EATRO, PIEL, Meat Free Mondays, Waste No More, Smart Sugar Crystals and Hydrovillage projects got the green light!It was tough, but 8 out of the 9 projects made it! Green Dragons is a CULSU project that’s throwing down the gauntlet to all CU students. You can improve sustainability at the University and in the local community by designing and landing your own project idea. There’s no limit to what you can do, if it helps the environment we want to know! We’ve got with funding pots between £500-£5,000 available to help you bring your idea to life.
This is Marria she wants to unlock the term “sustainability” for City University students and the local community. Tours to sustainability landmarks in London and lectures are just a few of the different ways that Marria plans to raise awareness over sustainability and how it affects economy, the environment and society.
Meet Fouzia. Fouzia is a Green Dragons Leader. She is currently designing her project on how to save water. Her project involves using grey water for other domestic uses, but also raising awareness around water in the City University and the local community.
It wasn’t so long ago that Green Dragons was just an inspired thought that was put to paper and given the nod of approval by the Students’ Green Fund team at the NUS. In fact that was just about four months ago and it’s been all go ever since!
