Last Monday was a very special evening for Green Dragons!
Together with celebrating sustainability at City University, in the context of Green City Week, we also celebrated the students or, else, our Green Dragons Leaders, who showed us and keep showing to us how much they care about becoming leaders of change.
More than 50 people joined us for Green Dragons Celebration, including Prof. Ken Grattan, Chair of City Sustainability Committee, representatives from the National Union of Students such as the Head of Sustainability, Jamie Agombar and the Students’ Green Fund Programme Manager, Emily Thompson – Bell, Chair of the House of Commons Environmental Audit Select Committee, Joan Walley, Islington North MP Jeremy Corbyn, the Low Carbon Entrepreneur project Coordinator from the Mayor’s Office, Katherine Eames, the Founder of London Veggie Societies, Thomas Micklewright, the City Student Union President, Rima Amin, the Student Union Team, City Environment Team, as well as more City academics and students.
We also had the chance to be introduced to a few of this years Green Dragons projects and we are very excited to report that there is an increasing interest by students and staff in joining our community. The submitted ideas have doubled since last year which means more and more people are willing to become (Green Dragons) Sustainability Leaders.
Keep an eye over the next few days for this year’s amazing projects and thank you all for being part of the change..!
